Developed as a significantly more track-focused evolution of the F82 M4, the GTS is powered by a 3.0-liter BMW M TwinPower Turbo inline-six utilizing an innovative water-injection system to produce 493 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through a 7-speed M Double-Clutch Transmission with Drivelogic to the rear wheels, while the Active M Differential, adjustable GTS suspension, extensive lightweight construction, and M Carbon Ceramic Brakes create a dramatically more focused driving experience than the standard M4.

The M4 GTS was engineered extensively around weight reduction, aerodynamics, and track performance. Carbon fiber reinforced plastic is incorporated throughout the vehicle, while an aggressive carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and adjustable carbon fiber rear wing provide both functional aerodynamics and the unmistakable appearance of the GTS. Lightweight staggered 19-inch front and 20-inch rear Style 666M forged wheels complement the chassis, while the factory M Carbon Ceramic Braking System provides exceptional braking performance. A lightweight M titanium exhaust system further distinguishes the GTS and gives the high-output turbocharged inline-six a significantly more aggressive character.

The Black Sapphire Metallic exterior has been professionally protected with full front-end paint protection film, helping preserve the M4 GTS's most vulnerable high-impact exterior surfaces from rock chips, road debris, scratches, and everyday wear. The virtually invisible PPF provides an important layer of long-term protection while maintaining the original appearance of the GTS and preserving its distinctive carbon fiber-intensive factory bodywork.
